What is a Cazimi ?

The term “cazimi” derives from the Arabic word “kaṣmīmī,” meaning “in the heart” or “in the center.” In astrology, cazimi refers to a planet that is within an exceptionally tight orb of conjunction with the Sun, typically within 17 minutes of arc.

In the cycle of any planet, a cazimi is a crucial moment. It occurs when a planet forms an exact conjunction with the Sun, initiating a new cycle.

The moon, while not technically a planet, conjuncts the Sun once a month, at the time of the new moon. The actual “super powers” of a cazimi last for the time that the planet (or the moon) is within that one degree of the Sun. Generally, this only lasts for a few hours or one day.

How often ?

These cazimis happen approximately once a year and bring moments of epiphany related to the planetary archetype.

Energies?

When Uranus is cazimi, it meets the sun in the sky, creating an electric current of soul awakening and change.

Expect the unexpected.

This alignment brings flashes of insight, sudden shifts, and disruptions meant to set us free from stagnation.

Taurus resists change, but Uranus insists. This is a day to stay open, flexible, and curious—especially around themes of security, money, body, and earth. Where are you being asked to break free from old routines or limiting beliefs around what you need to feel safe?

A Scorpio full Moon invites you into the underworld of transformation and a Uranus cazimi holds space for evolution, growth, and peering into the future. There is more of you waiting—and this week mirrors the readiness stirring within.

Usually, a cazimi will align with fortuitous events, serendipitous moments, and universal clarity.
