Dwarf Planet Nessus

Nessus is a very red centaur on an eccentric orbit, located beyond Saturn in the outer Solar System.

It was named after Nessus from Greek mythology.

In Dante Alighieri’s Inferno, Nessus is among the centaurs who patrol the outer rings of the Circle of Violence, making sure those immersed in the Phlegethon don’t get out of their position.

Dwarf Planet Varuna

Varuna is a dwarf planet whose orbit extends beyond the orbit of Neptune.

It is named after the Hindu deity Varuna, one of the oldest deities mentioned in the Vedic texts. 

Varuna is associated with the sky, oceans, and water. In the Vedic scriptures, he is paired with the god Mitra and is the lord of Ṛta (justice) and Satya(truth).

Varuna in his benevolent aspect rules over weather and rain and justice!

He was the keeper of moral law and worked with Mitra to ensure that humans adhered to the laws and rules.

Candlemas honours the end of winter and the return of light, and various proverbs link it to the weather.

It’s all about CANDLES

For pagans, lighting candles is a way to clear away the darkness, not only physically but spiritually.

Many pagans use Candlemas as an opportunity for personal purification whether through rituals of cleansing the home, clearing negative energy, or conducting meditations for inner healing and renewal.

Candlemas represents the most quickening of life stirring in the dark womb of Mother Earth. It is a time to burn away what doesn’t serve you (old ideas of how you see yourself or your options) and plant seeds for what you want to grow. Nature abhors a vacuum, so you need to fill the space that you empty with what you need today.
